Programs for setting up new or merged/restructured teams

Teams that are new, restructuring, cross-functional or short-term in nature (such as taskforces, project teams or cross-functional working groups and committees) benefit from a fast-track program to set them up for success.

Addressing both relationship building and operational practices, the team works through a set of evidence-based activities to help them move from 'forming to performing' and hit the ground running.

How it works

  • Initiated by the executive sponsor, team's leader, or HR

  • Designed in collaboration with team leader to agree on success criteria, challenges and opportunities

  • Builds on BAU team planning and development activities to fast-track team’s performance

  • Emphasis early on is about developing connection: an understanding of who's on the team, their backgrounds, values, capabilities, motivators and stressors, shared or disparate goals and needs

  • Then the focus turns to exploring the best ways to practically work together, agreeing shared behavioural standards and accountability processes

  • Team commitments and achievements are documented and tracked to drive ongoing improvements

  • Programs take 1-4 months, to establish strong foundations and effective ways of working
