Peer Learning Circles

Peer learning circles help harness the power of collegiate learning by facilitating leaders to explore shared challenges and learn from each other’s lived experiences.

These sessions allow leaders to connect with their peers in meaningful ways while supporting and challenging each other’s growth and development.

Who’s it for
Senior Leaders
Middle Managers, Coordinators
Frontline Supervisors

How it works

  • Initiated typically by the leader, the leader’s manager or HR

  • Can be run with intact leadership teams or with a mix of leaders across different areas; typically grouped by leaders at level to allow safe peer level discussions

  • Confidential sessions, in person or virtually every few weeks (or as agreed by the group)

  • At each session, the group take turns to share experiences or dilemmas that they'd like the group's perspective or input on

  • The learning circle acts as an independent sounding board for the leader

  • The coach facilitates the discussion, ensures respectful participation and adds relevant insights, tools and resources where needed to move individuals and the group from insight to action

What it achieves

  • Stronger connection, collaboration and trust amongst leaders through sharing of experiences

  • Sustainable and practical learning driven through peer group debriefs, insights and tactics (alternative to more intensive formal learning)

  • Greater confidence in their leadership capability, strengthened through support from peers

  • Continuous focus on learning and growth as a leader over time

  • Early identification of systemic leadership challenges
